theres a lot of good tension going on in the band. new songs bring out new sets of dynamics which in their turn bring out new sounds. we are experimenting with all of those as we progress with our work on the new album. theres a month to go before we set sail abroad to tour and record so theres not much time, but theres a sensation of freshness that drives us forward. Ira is the last to receive his Visa, so we are now all officialy clear for take off. Our upcoming shows for July are pretty exciting and include a show at Haozen record store in Tel Aviv (actually that ones tommorow!), a show at an art festival in Jerusalem with Monkey Son Of A Donkey and a special video screening show at a secret location (so secret we arent sure where it is!). Also this coming month we’ll be opening for Sunn O))’s Stephen O’Malley, which is probably the cherry topping everything off, at least as far as i’m concerned…
See you tommorow or in the near future.
xlovex, Juval.
some updates for this week : we had a show on Danny Hadar's roof which was an awesome event (thanks Amit!), we'll have pictures of that up soon.
this week we have 2 shows : friday at a fund-raiser for south tel aviv's Ben-Atar squat, and saturday with Lenses at Hazira in jerusalem. talk about two ends of the same stick.
me and avinoam are taking tests for school, working on written projects we need to submit to school, writing songs and making plans. the four of us went into rehersal yesterday and recorded rough sketches of 5 new songs – they sound great. cant wait to actually record them in a studio.
come see us friday or saturday, and if you cant come at all, we have some great shows planned for you before we head off to the states including a special music video screening show and a street show in dizigof square.
love and everything.

3 shows in 4 days is killer. we went from tel aviv to jerusalem and back. played with spiff, monotonix and hameyutarim and loved every minute of it. made us think about our upcoming 20 or so consecutive shows in the states in august and september. being on the road gigging seems like a distant dream drawing nearer and nearer, manifesting itself here and there in our own surroundings like a crystalizing, deathical mirage.
next week we're gonna be playing a roof somewhere, so check the dates on our website for information (flyer coutesy of juval's 12 year old sister).

and it warms the heart

saturday was simply uplifting. to see so many music lovers in one place melted away those fabricated walls us alternative-anti-institutional types tend to put up around ourselves in order to protect our artistry against contamination from the outside. the quest for keeping everything pure lost all its meaning to me, and i was contaminated so to speak by the awesome gaze of the audience towards one man with one guitar, making such a ture and real connection. i thought of how small stages are the greatest, how rootless our lives are and how rooted i felt those very few hours on saturday, surrounded by unfamiliar smiling drinking smoking faces, how we always try to seem like something we are not, and drive away everything that we really are. how distant rock music is in israel, from the enthusiasm of the primitive forms of art found all around us in ethnic music, in prayers and psalms and even on the street. how we came from many different places, from a thousand folklores and how soulful it is to be (truely rock and roll) when we are together.

well we've got a zillion new shows for you in june, and a few more in july (we're opening for SUNN ((O)) , and we're playing a street art festival, all in july). august will be our "last shows" month, one in tel aviv and one in jerusalem. our first music video is 1/3 complete (well animation takes a while when you dont have a million dollars) and we're almost done working on the material for our new album, so good news all around.
we have a show on 7/6/06 at the Lima Lima, at a Hellicon poetry event. so if your into poetry, pretty girls, beer and foul beatless banging of instruments (We know we are), your more then welcome!
